Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy may be a more common treatment for cancer but it isn’t necessarily the first option doctors would go to. Doctors use chemotherapy as a way to kill off cancer cells in the body instead of removing them manually like they would if they performed the surgery. If a patient has had surgery and/or radiation therapy performed on them and still has cancerous cells left behind, they might have several rounds of chemotherapy in order to get rid of any remaining cells from the original tumor. Chemotherapy is typically administered intravenously (through a vein) or nebulized into the lungs in some cases which makes it easier for the doctor to target specific problems in particular areas of the body. Medwise Hospitals offers dedicated services for all kinds of chemotherapy treatments.
